Membership Christiane Brosius appointed member of advisory board “Patrimonies”

In January 2025, Christiane Brosius was appointed to the advisory board of the Gerda Henkel Foundation's funding initiative “Patrimonies” for a four-year term. Since 1976, the Foundation has been promoting research in the field of historical humanities. In its funding priority "Patrimonies", the Gerda Henkel Foundation is increasingly committed to the preservation of cultural heritage, especially in crisis regions.

Christiane Brosius is involved in the field of cultural heritage studies as part of the Nepal Heritage Documentation Project (NHDP) funded by ARCADIA (co-director, with the Academy of Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Axel Michaels) as well as the research project Heritage as Placemaking (together with colleagues from Kathmandu at the Social Science Baha and SOAS, University of London). She is also the spokesperson for the flagship initiative Transforming Cultural Heritage, an instrument of the Excellence Strategy at Heidelberg University.
